1. Check your current version

Before you begin, verify which version of Locus GIS you are currently using:

Menu → About app → App info

This helps you confirm whether the downgrade is necessary and which version you want to install.

2. Back up all your projects (very important!)

Downgrading requires uninstalling the current app, and uninstalling will delete all your projects and data.

To back up your projects:

  1. Open Menu → Projects

  2. Tap the project options

  3. Choose Export as ZIP

Repeat this for all important projects.

Tip: Store the ZIP files somewhere safe (cloud storage, email, SD card).

3. Download the older APK

All previous versions of Locus GIS are available in our archive:

    http://bit.ly/lgiVersions

Download the APK file of the version you want to install.

4. Uninstall the current version

Go to your device settings and uninstall Locus GIS.

Warning:  Uninstalling removes all local data - this is why the backup from step 2 is essential.

5. Install the downloaded APK

After uninstalling:

  1. Open the downloaded APK file

  2. Your device will likely ask you to allow installation from unknown sources

  3. Enable the permission and continue with the installation

If you need help enabling this option, this video explains the process clearly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oU5fqwaY9YA

6. Restore your projects

After installation:

  1. Open Locus GIS

  2. Go to Menu → Projects

  3. Import your previously exported ZIP files

Your projects should now be restored and ready to use.
