Locus GIS, Shp imports ok but does not show up on map.

Hello,

I have tried importing a few shapefiles. It says working, then importing and it looks like it imported ok.

But then it does not appear on the map.

I choose the correct coordinate system.

Is there a size limit on the number of features a shapefile can have?

Why is it not appearing on the map? There are 82194 features in the shapefile and it covers our county about 60 miles by 60 miles in size.

The shp size is 53 mb

I have done some testing. My file was to large.

It seems you need about 2 mb or less to draw when zoomed out.

I am a GIS specialist. I work with ArcGIS all the time. I have a suggestion.

I notice the larger Shapefile will load and display if you zoom in and then turn the layer on.

Therefore, In ArcGIS there is an option to set when a layer will automatically turn on based on if you are zoomed in beyond a certain zoom level. Or you can also set the a layer to turn off beyond a certain zoom level.

This would solve the issue with displaying big shapefiles. Please include an option for each layer to turn to have it turn automatically on or off based on zoom scale.
